A Conversation With Dennis Keeley and Veronica Cotter

Our photo chat on Wednesday, July 31, will feature guests Dennis Keeley and Veronica Cotter. Dennis has been a musician, artist, photographer, educator, and writer for more than 40 years. He is known for his work in the field of music portraiture and for hundreds of album and CD covers. He is a former photo editor of the LA Weekly and was the chair of the Photography and Imaging program at the Art Center College of Design. He is also known for his portfolio reviews at the Palm Springs Photo Festival, Photo LA, and other platforms.

Veronica Cotter is the Education Development and Western Region Manager for Hahnemühle USA. She has more than 40 years in the photo and imaging industry, beginning with traditional/analog-based companies that produced high end black & white films and paper. Veronica’s current role is to introduce and support the Hahnemühle range of Digital Fine Art papers and the company’s impressive 440-year legacy of paper manufacturing with a focus on sustainability.

As you can see, this couple has an extensive history in the photo industry and we will have a fun conversation amongst friends that will go in interesting directions. Bring your questions about printing or about the state of photo education or about working with musicians and see where we go in this conversation.

About Dennis and Veronica

Dennis Keeley works as an artist, photographer, teacher and writer. His photographs have been exhibited in numerous one person and group shows and he is published internationally in books and studies concerning urban circumstance. He has works in the permanent collections at LACMA, MOCA, the J. Paul Getty Center Trust, and Conservation and Research Institutes and was commissioned by the California African American Museum in Los Angeles. In 2016 he was chosen by Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA) to exhibit his portraits of musicians in a solo exhibition entitled, “25 Years of Music.” Dennis Keeley is Chair of the Photography and Imaging Program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and has served on the Board of Directors at Angel’s Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, CA for more than ten years.
