Exploring A New Fjord System

This trip has been in the making for four years, and we are all excited to get it going. My original trip was scheduled for 2020. That was a year, and all traffic and activities were canceled due to COVID. The next year, the same thing happened. The following year, Greenland put strict onboard COVI D protocols in place, and that prevented the trip from going again. Then, last year, the ship we were going to use broke down, and the season had to be canceled.

This year, it all looks good. This afternoon, 12 of us from the Rockhopper Workshop will fly to a small island airport on Kulusuk. Here, we will walk to the end of the runway and meet the zodiacs that will take us to our ship for the next seven days. You can read about this trip on the Rockhopper workshops page.
There will be no articles for the next eight days until I get back to Reykjavik. It will be good not to be involved in the crazy news cycle, and all that is happening in our world. Sometimes, you just need to get away from it all. Everyone on this trip is a photographer, and we are aiming to do some non-stop photography and maybe some northern lights. No internet!
I’ll have a full report shortly after returning.
